01. Dear Flist: Pride week starts today, so I maded you a muxtape (More on that tomorrow.). As far as technical mixing merits go, it's so-so, but there are good songs! So give it a listen if you want.

02. Dear weather: I will tolerate those clouds, but don't you DARE rain!

03. Dear Berliners: Come to the GLBTQ street fair today! There are lots of infos and hopefully fun to be had! If you want to meet up, I'll probably be hanging out at Lambda's booth. (If you want to be sure to catch me, come tomorrow around noon, since that's when I have booth-sitting duties.)

04. Dear German team: I have no clue what happened, but please keep on playing that way forever, thanks.

05. Dear Turkish team: As much as I like you for patriotic duty alone, did you really have to do that? Now I won't dare to leave the house Wednesday night. German-Turkish deathmatch, yikes!

WOOT!! Quite in the original sense of the term, even. :D Our team did pretty good, especially in the beginning - some great passes, FINALLY they managed to fill up their gaps and not kick the ball wherever all the time. And how many hugs did I want to give Lukas Podolski? For all that he is... let's say: not the brightest crayon in the box, he kicked ass and his little sadface at scoring against his home country was precious (if a bit silly). The bows and everything after the game felt a bit over the top, considering this was just a preliminary match* against a team we haven't lost to in a long time, but of course then they had to go play "One Moment In Time" and make me cry. YES, I ADMIT IT: This stupid, stupid song gets me every time. I don't even know. Anyway, bring on Croatia!

*(Then again, it WAS the first German victory in any Euro match since 1996.)

P.S. Another cheerful occasion: Late, but [livejournal.com profile] snuffkin, I wish you all the best and a happy birthday! ♥ ♥ ♥

SPN season 3 finale, spoilery thoughts )

On a completely different note, they announced the selection of players for Germany's national team at the European Football Championship. I haven't been following the Bundesliga closely enough to really pass an informed judgement, but I have to say that I wasn't really surprised they didn't include Timo Hildebrandt. Somewhat sad (what is Lahm going to do without him?), but not surprised. Otherwise... don't know, all my favourites (Odonkor! Schweinsteiger! Lahm!) are still there, there are some that I don't know (three second league players, wow), there are some that I expected (Kuranyi) and some I didn't (Hitzelsperger, don't know why). Overall, I'm just really excited to see how they're going to do and happy to get some international matches again (since I'm kind of blah about our national leagues in general).

You know, I never thought I'd say that, but - I'm actually quite happy about Italy winning. :)

The game was - except for the first 20-30 minutes and a few situations - rather boring, and I don't think either team played particularly well. (Then again, I don't think either of them deserved to get that far in the first place.) However, Italy was (and again, can't believe I'm admitting to that) by far the more likeable team and sometime halfway through I found myself sort of rooting for them. What is the world coming to? :| Also, that stunt Zidane pulled - what the fuck? Sorry, but the Italian guy (forgot the name :"> ) couldn't have provoked him that much. Dumbest thing I've ever seen.

So - Congrats, Italy, on being World Champion, and congrats, Germany, on being Champion of the the Hearts. (Schweini, you're my hero!) And thank you for an AMAZING and intense four weeks. ♥ ♥ ♥ ETA: Take a look at [livejournal.com profile] lennongirl's post here if you want to know why the German team is the BEST EVER. :X

(Dana and Shiva are out partying now, but I'm sorta tired and emo (not because of the football!) and so I'll leave the more coherent and euphoric posts to someone else. Just - lovely Cup, even more lovely German team, great time.)

Also: It's just for one more hour, but the very happiest of birthdays to [livejournal.com profile] gehirnstuerm!!

Oh well.

You know, it's not even the fact that we're out that bothers me. I mean, it was the semi-finals, that's no disgrace - we're one of the four best teams in the world, after all. What bothers me is losing to Italy. They played well yesterday, there's no denying it - great game and both teams fought hard - but I just can't stand their team, neither in regards to style nor attitude. Every other team would have been more or less fine with me, but Italy makes me somewhat grumpy. (No offense to their fans - tastes differ. :) )

Ah well. Was a bit crushed yesterday, but we played an awesome tournament, we have the most wonderful team and the most incredible coaches we've had for a long time (if anybody dares to say something bad about Klinsmann now, I'll be seriously miffed), and we're totally going to make third place. So there. Team Germany is still love. ♥ ♥ ♥

I think I shall be rooting for Portugal now. :)

P.S. Can someone shut Beckmann up? Please?

ETA: WOOOOOOOO!! MIROSLAV KLOSE!! *claps* Now come on team, you can do that! *cheers*

ETA2: Oh my nerves. Ohhhhh my nerves. Please, German team, please don't fuck this up.

ETA3: You gotta be kidding me. You've GOT to be kidding me. Shoot-out? ashdgfhsgadfhjgf I AM DYING HERE. Oh God, pleasepleasepleaseplease. Please Germany, win this one. Please.

Go Germany!! *waves flag* \:D/ I'll be off to the Fanmeile in a moment, it's going to be insane! First German team match in Berlin! It's not even an important game, insofar as that they've made it to the next round already - but it's going to be exciting, because both teams have nothing to lose. *gnaws nails* *stops and instead keeps fingers crossed*

Ok, I promised [livejournal.com profile] cala_jane to cut my Germany-Poland reaction. ;-p Capslock ahead! )

And then Berlin. Holy shit. We were on the 16th floor, windows open, and when they scored you could hear the whole city screaming. Seriously, it was incredible. And then there were fireworks and honking and cheering all over town. I have no words for how absolutely wonderful that was. When we (i.e. [livejournal.com profile] nairie) drove home afterwards there were people singing and cheering everywhere, it was just a huge party all over town. Words can not describe the atmosphere in this city right now. I lovelovelove it. ♥ ♥ ♥

Rocky Horror last night was awesome. Great atmosphere, fun mix of freaks and "normal" people and all ages and everything. And I was in a horribly good and bouncy mood, singing along and trying to get [livejournal.com profile] kaoru_is_here to wear make-up (he refused, the spoilsport :-p ) and being all "PARTAY!!11!" Good times. Trisha took pictures which I'm going to steal once I'm back at my own computer.

Footie talk )

Ok, hijacked Shiva's computer long enough. I'm far too addicted to the net. *lol* Now for the next game and then probably some Supernatural. :)

This is going to be the running commentary post for the upcoming match. :D Because watching footie alone is only half the fun, I need someone to shout and squee along with. So, if you happen to be watching (or even if you're not), feel free to join me.

But first:

The actual commentary will be cut )

For those of you not football-y inclined: friending meme, or pick some prompts from the porn battle or look at the Testimonials Meme (I'm here.) ;)

ETA: Sweden - Trinidad-Tobago was a really nice game. Lots of exciting moments, apparently great atmosphere, surprisingly balanced.

So, once upon a long, long time I felt very inspired to make RHPS icons. I capped the movie, made a few icons... and suddenly all the inspiration was gone. And didn't return. I tried other subjects, but not much came out of that, either. Until... [livejournal.com profile] lennongirl told me to join [livejournal.com profile] world_cup_slash and I did and she had a fantastic post about German footie boys, and the prettiness brought my muses right back. Long story made short: Icons!

I know that all the football icons are just of the German team - if you have your own champion, feel free to point me to a pic and I'll make you another one. :)

P.S. They're having fireworks at Potsdamer Platz AGAIN. What is it lately? Maybe testing for the WC already or something? (Not that I'm complaining... Shiny! :D )
