Random real life stuff

01. A Happy Birthday to sinuous_curve and the same, belatedly, to the lovely moonix! ♥

02. I have not yet gotten around to watching SPN or The Office, and there don't seem to be any ANTM uploads anywhere. Woe!

03. The actual reason for posting: Dana, Toni and I spent Walpurgisnacht at the Mauerpark, which turned out surprisingly nice and peaceful. Lots of happy people of all subcultural persuasions just hanging out, drinking (2,50 Euros for vodka red bull?!), talking, drumming, some played ball or frisbee or did acrobatics stuff, and several people were giving out free hugs. (One really, really cute punky girl had a sign, but I'm lame and didn't dare asking.) It was all very summery and reminded me of music festivals (now I'm even more bummed that the chances of me getting to one this summer are so low), only with more police *lol* - I took some pictures:


They had turned on the floodlights in the stadium so police (and everyone else, presumably) could see better. It gave everything this awesomely surreal glow.









And totally random, but I felt like practicing my camwhoring skillz when I got the camera to download the photos. Not 'shopped, so excuse the tiredness and everything, but for the first time in ages I'm starting to like my face again, so I have to share.



I took several others in random positions, and not one made me want to break the camera. Weight loss FTW! (Sorry if I'm annoying anyone with the whole "I'm awesome!" attitude lately, but really - this is huge, ok?)

04. Now to bed - we're having a counseling workshop tomorrow, and for the first time since dropping out of uni I'll be holding a talk, teaching the rest of the group about small, yet effective interventions (as in: counseling techniques, not the kind where you try to get someone to get help). Should be fun! (Again, not being sarcastic - strangely enough I never had problems with public speaking.)

ugh, my homesickness for Germany is aweful right now. the other night i had a bandom dream in german and woke up really confused because i hardly ever dream in german when i'm home in NZ. I miss my tiny village and the fests and euro and everything :( Schuetzenfest in my village is soon, that was always the best.

Celle, near Hannover. I actually lived in a little village called Suelze, but I went to school in Celle my first year on student exchange. I miss cobbled streets and wobbly looking houses and Weinachtsfest and castles and snow and and and *sigh*

I don't know about the job yet - the interview went quite well, I think, but the manager is on vacation until next week or so, so I have to wait for his decision some more. Thanks for the finger-crossing, I really hope it helped.

Good to hear that. ;) It's weird for me to have such self-confidence, so I never know how others are going to react to it.
