Hi! I'm not around much at the moment, because offline life is busy and I'm not really doing anything fannish (except having caught up with Doctor Who, which I stopped watching in early season three, but my thoughts on this are many and disjointed and I don't feel like trying to bring them into any sort of coherent form). To prove that I'm not dead, here are some more graveyard photos!

Shiva, Kerstin, Christoph and I visited Südwestkirchhof Stahnsdorf yesterday, a huge cemetery from the early 20th century. It belonged to East Germany and fell into disrepair, and now it's mostly a forest with withered gravestones, mausoleums and fountains scattered throughout - all quiet and peaceful and really beautiful. I originally wanted to go because the British military cemetery that is located within the graveyard is supposed to be haunted, but other parts turned out to be much more interesting

In other and completely unrelated news: less than a week before I'll be heading to the Balkans with morningfine! :D If everything goes as planned (and it'd better!) we'll fly to Athens on Saturday, take the bus to Gjirokastër and make our way through Albania, Montenegro, Bosnia & Herzegovina and Croatia to fly back from Zagreb on the 16th. WORDS CAN NOT CONTAIN HOW EXCITED I AM. Is it Saturday yet?

Along the Spree in Friedrichshain district a stretch of the Berlin Wall, the so-called East Side Gallery was preserved and painted by artists as a memorial. Over the years, the painting have cracked and faded, and tourists and Berliners alike have added their own little graffiti - quotes, names, greetings, the usual. I love the way that those inscriptions have made it a bit of a memorial to the many different people in this city as well, and when I heard that the city was planning on restoring the original paintings, I kept meaning to go to the Gallery and take some pictures of my favourite graffiti, before they were removed. Last night I had an hour to kill in the area before meeting up with paraka*, so I went down there. Sadly, half of the wall has already been cleaned, but I want to share some of what could be found on there. Image-heavy!

*Meeting paraka is a whole different story, because she's one of my oldest LJ friends and getting to meet her was awesome. ♥

First of all, a belated happy birthday to ladybanteerin and peaches, and a late, but still in time, happy birthday to shivaluna! Love you all and wish you many good things.

Secondly, what's the most logical reaction to reading too many ghost stories and freaking yourself out? Why, visit your favourite cemetery of course! Which I did yesterday, because I haven't been there for over a year and I finally have a proper camera to take some pictures. (Sorry if you're sick of my 1834 photo posts lately, but I'm still excited about this and need to practice my skillz. Tbh, there will be even more tomorrow night or so, since we're going to do drag king dress-up.)

Speaking of Supernatural, I... don't actually have anything to say about the latest episode. Sorry for failing at fandom at the moment?

On a completely different note, I listened to Metro Station for the first time earlier, and it's very much catering to my newfound love for kind of silly, kind of electronic catchy pop. Someone needs to bring the RRRGL tour to Europe! Also, I need more music to satisfy my current craving for electronica. I've been mainly listening to Robots in Disguise, CSS and IAMX, with a bit of Ratatat, Peaches and Björk's more electronic stuff thrown in - can anyone recommend something along those lines?

As you might have noticed, I'm back from the festival - tired, slightly sunburned, but definitely happy. :D Let me tell you all about the weekend:
