So that's that.
Jul. 9th, 2006 10:46 pmYou know, I never thought I'd say that, but - I'm actually quite happy about Italy winning. :)
The game was - except for the first 20-30 minutes and a few situations - rather boring, and I don't think either team played particularly well. (Then again, I don't think either of them deserved to get that far in the first place.) However, Italy was (and again, can't believe I'm admitting to that) by far the more likeable team and sometime halfway through I found myself sort of rooting for them. What is the world coming to? :| Also, that stunt Zidane pulled - what the fuck? Sorry, but the Italian guy (forgot the name :"> ) couldn't have provoked him that much. Dumbest thing I've ever seen.
So - Congrats, Italy, on being World Champion, and congrats, Germany, on being Champion of the the Hearts. (Schweini, you're my hero!) And thank you for an AMAZING and intense four weeks. ♥ ♥ ♥ ETA: Take a look at
lennongirl's post here if you want to know why the German team is the BEST EVER. :X
(Dana and Shiva are out partying now, but I'm sorta tired and emo (not because of the football!) and so I'll leave the more coherent and euphoric posts to someone else. Just - lovely Cup, even more lovely German team, great time.)
Also: It's just for one more hour, but the very happiest of birthdays to
