First of all, sorry for being so antisocial lately. I read pretty much everything, but I'm comment-blocked to the point where I type three paragraphs and then decide that it's stupid and don't post it. *facepalm*

Secondly, ( I rescued a bird today ) Fittingly, I was wearing this shirt. :D I also took a photo, but won't be able to post it until I'm home tonight.

And last but not least, the Sweet Charity auction starts today, 2 p.m. GMT! I signed up, after all, so if you want, you can bid on a bunch of custom icons/header/CD covers/flyers/etc. as well as my services translating your English texts into German (or proofreading your German homework ;) ). This round, all proceeds go to Invisible Children.

Bidding has begun at Sweet Charity! In case you don't remember: Until March 24 you can bid on lots of fannish goodies, with all proceeds going to RAINN. Just set up an account (really quick and easy), look at what all the charity hos have to offer and then bid! (Considering my "Oh, nice idea. *moves on*" reaction when I first read about this I'm being awfully exited now, huh?)

I have two things on offer:
- A graphics pack: 20 icons or 1 header + icons + friends only banner or 3 wallpapers (or anything else, if you have a particular request)
- Myself. I'll be your fannish bitch for a month. Have an awesome new pic and need it iconed asap? Want to read a specific fic, but can't be bothered with the search? Need stickfigure porn to cheer you up? You say, I do. (Real life commitments allowing.)

*cough*(Coincidentally, my birthday is on the day the auction ends, so getting lots of bids would be sort of an awesome present.)*coughcough*

And there are more than 100 awesome people offering amazing things, so here are a few recommendations (aka what I would bid on if I wasn't continuously broke):

Last time I checked the overall bids were at 1712.46 Euros, i.e. around 2260 USD. Personally I'm at 5,48€ right now. And bidding has just started! It's amazing what fandom can do. ♥

First of all, please go and read this awesome post by plumsuede.

Secondly, as you might know I'm basically broke and thus can't donate anything for the hurricane victims - and while the USA may have a lot of money and a lot of ressources, with that amount of damage they do need all the help they can get. So, I'm going the fandom_charity way and offering up my services for anyone who donates something - be it money or volunteering or something else. What I can offer is:

- icons
- LJ headers
- website graphics
- complete websites with graphics and html (note: I can do html and css, but not php)
- fanfic banners
- wallpapers
- ... well, basically everything that requires Photoshop
- possibly fic, though that depends heavily on what you want me to write
- homemade postcard/s
- ... give me ideas :)

No fixed "prices", you give what you can afford - it's all on an honour basis anyway. Just let me know what you give and we can figure out what you get for it. ;) (And yes, it might be silly, because I usually do requests "for free" anyway and lots of people probably still do it right now, but it's the only way I can think of to help, and I WANT to help. Ahem. :">)

Since everyone and their mother is donating to The Red Cross, it would be cool if your donations went to one of the smaller organizations - there's a very good list with descriptions of the charities here, for example. (Not that I'd mind if you'd rather give to the Red Cross, of course. Just suggesting. ;) )
