This and That

1. And again I missed a birthday...
thefabone, belatedly the very bestest of wishes! Have a fantastic and success- and fun- and love-filled year!
2. Heroes this week wasn't quite as good as the past few episodes, but I still enjoyed it a lot. Getting to see Sylar's "human" side was interesting, and while I agree that it could have been handled somewhat less clumsily, I don't think it's out of character. There have been several occasions during the season where we got glimpses of his rather schizophrenic character, like his past as a quiet watchmaker or his weird sort-of-friendship *cough* with Mohinder. Feeling the need to be "special" is a believable motivation, Sylar just takes it to extremes, so much that it pushes aside any goodness that might be left. And that's scarier than any pure evil (that doesn't exist anyway): seeing that evil is, deep down, just like you and me (which is why I never got people's objections to the depiction of Hitler in "Downfall"). /end of meta-ish thoughts
I continue loving the Petrellis. I continue shipping Claire/Peter (where was the Peter/Nathan this episode, though?). Ando continues to be awesome, I liked that Hiro told him he didn't want to be future!Hiro, and the initial confrontation between Hiro and Sylar was slightly clichéd, but good. Molly is ok, as far as kids on TV go. Mohinder is adorable. I like Candice. Jessica was blah this episode. The reunion between Claire and Daddy Bennett made me go "awwwww!" Claire-Bear. ♥ Also, does "Parkman, Bennet, and Sprague" sound like an expensive law firm or what?
3. New computer will be bought sometime between this weekend and some point in the next week. Finally! I can barely hear anything over the roar of this one anymore. Wait, it actually stopped! No, now it's there again. GAH! Anyway, that's when I'll be back for more than skimming the flist, updating my own journal and doing no graphics but my
spn_iconathon entries.
4. Asylum is this weekend. *sigh* Hey, if you are going and you run across my flatmate, say hi to her for me, ok? I wish I could be there with you all. ♥ (Said flatmate is
nairie, she'll have a name tag saying exactly that, will most likely be wearing a "Saving People. Hunting Things. Family Business." shirt and hanging around somewhere near
nebulein and
luthien82. She's awesome and I want her to meet you awesome guys, if I can't do it myself. :D )
