I finally watched the new Heroes, and all I could say for a couple of minutes afterwards was "Awesome. Awesome!" Possibly interspersed with a few "Ohmigod!!" and "Hiatus needs to die." Best episode so far, hands down.
There was not one single second in this episode that bored me. Not one single plot I didn't like. Not one single character I didn't love. And the visuals are just getting better and better - the colours and the sets and the composition of the shots! SO GOOD. I'm trying for coherency here, but it might be hard:
- Nathan is beyond awesome. Yay for him working with the FBI, and for confronting Linderman, and for caring for Peter, and for helping Hiro, and for generally taking matters into his hands. And yay for him becoming hotter with each episode.
- Sylar is lightyears beyond awesome. I so knew he was playing Mohinder, yet I was so shocked when he stopped that bullet. He's fantastically creepy and insane, love it.
- Yay for Mohinder figuring it out, even though he should have seen it coming that Sylar wouldn't be so easy to defeat. And damn it, he was HOT this episode. I had seen it in the preview, but the "It's going to hurt"? DAMN. And the pointing guns at Sylar's head, very nice shots.
- I can still ship Sylar/Mohinder, though. (Hey, I ship Teri Bauer/Nina Myers!) And is it just me or is this show just full of the HoYay? Not surprising, I guess, with 90% of the female characters either dead or rarely showing up. The Nathan/Niki scene was sort of hot, though. They'd be pretty together.
- To get back to Mohinder: When he hung on the ceiling in that last scene I had to grin. If he had burst into flames I would have inappropriately laughed out loud.
- Mr. Bennett rocks, as does the shapeshifter (niiice twist, even though you saw it coming the moment she said she liked Mrs. Bennett's hair), as does Mrs. Bennett. And her cellphone ringtone! ♥
- Claire kicks ass, so does the Haitian, and wow, didn't really see that coming with Mrs. Petrelli. Nice!
- Ando showing up to save the day made me squee a bit.
- Did Isaac paint himself there? Wouldn't be surprising, of course, with what we know from earlier in the season (did Hiro ever tell him about that?)
- HOLY CLIFFHANGER, BATMAN! And the worst thing is, I don't actually put it past them to kill Peter. Is it April yet?
And because I'm in a poll mood, have a random (unspoilery) Heroes poll:

Theater tonight, Dana's grandmother is taking us to see A Midsummer Night's Dream at Deutsches Theater. I've worked on and seen that play so many times, really curious about this staging. :) Apparently they cancelled it because opening night was delayed. :(
